Mr. Maher possesses over 30 years of experience in the retained executive search, corporate outplacement and career counseling fields. At The Maher Consultancy his responsibilities include providing leadership and accountability on all client projects and day to day management of key engagements for the firm.
Earlier he founded The Partnership Group; was a Senior Partner at Deven Associates International and as Associate National Consulting Director for a large corporate outplacement organization.
He served as General Manager of a private mortgage banking organization and held lending/business development positions with two regional financial institutions.
He has been very active locally and nationally with Boys and Girls Clubs of America for over
twenty-eight
years. He has received numerous awards and recognition and recently served on the prestigious National Planning Commission for the second time. He has also been certified as a Field Consultant for Board Development Training.
Mr. Maher currently serves as Past Chairman of the Paterson (NJ) Boys and Girls Club and as a Board Member and Chair of the Resource Development Committee of the United Way of Passaic County. He was a founding member of an advisory council to an MBA program at a large university. Previously, he served as a Board Member and Chair of the Small Business Council of The Regional Business Partnership and sat on the advisory board of the Nicholas Martini Foundation. In the public sector, he was a Board Member of a New England based financial institution and Co-Chaired their Compensation Committee.
He has lectured and written on career matters over the years and served as a contributing editor to a regional
newspaper. He has also consulted to a variety of business and nonprofit organizations on a continuing basis
Mr. Schwartz managed day to day operations including research, outsourcing and overall management of all active projects until his recent retirement. He remains available to assist on projects, as required.
Ray and Pete shared ownership of The Partnership Group and began to work together in 1981 at Deven Associates International. Earlier, Ray began his career in search with a well known New York firm where he headed up all research operations and managed senior level assignments.
His early career included the Presidency of a steel import and distribution business. Ray is currently adjunct professor at Montclair State University where he has taught marketing for over twenty-five years and is the University's longest serving adjunct professor.
One of Ray's community interests is mass transportation. During the 1980's he served as President of the PATH (Port Authority Trans Hudson) Commuter Organization and testified at Congressional/State hearings. He also appeared on both radio and television during this period.
Sharon has day to day responsibility for research operations. She has spent over 7 years in the employ of two retained search organizations in addition to many years of administrative experience, managing professional organizations.
Sharon is very community minded; she serves as an editor for nonprofit newsletters and is an active volunteer and officer of Orphaned Pets, a nonprofit dog rescue operation. Her love of pets extends to serving as a dog trainer when time permits.
